  Research Notes:

There is no reference in later records to Ann's middle name Scott, so no confirmation that this Ann Anderson was the one who married Robert Cargill. Dates and census evidence of age support the way I have recorded this.

I have assumed that her sister Ann born in 1833 died before this Ann was born.

Of the 10 children in this family, only this Ann and her brother Robert have middle names, both Scott. Interestingly, 15 years before, Ann Scott Mearns was born; she was a distant cousin, and probably a near neighbour as Ferryden is fairly small. Scott might be in honour of the local laird, but there is no way of telling.
